Matcha is a Japanese green tea whose properties have been known for thousands of years. Literally translated, it is "tea powder." According to research, its one cup has the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of regular green tea. In addition, matcha is more than 100 times richer in valuable antioxidants than it. This is because when we drink matcha tea, we don't just sip the decoction, but the grated tea leaves.

About two weeks before harvesting, the bushes are shielded from the sun to slow their growth. During this time, the tea leaves turn pale green and produce amino acids that give them sweetness and a deep aroma. The harvested leaves are dried and then grated into a powder that is an intense green color.

Matcha is known for its relaxing properties, which it owes to L-theanine. It's a compound that exhibits a calming effect, reducing feelings of stress and anxiety and stabilizing mood while keeping the mind alert.

One cup of it can provide almost the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. However, matcha, unlike small black, adds energy gradually and avoids a sudden drop in strength. What else sets matcha apart is the polyphenol EGCG, which improves metabolism, among other things.
